The Los Angeles Dodgers and Toei Animation have announced a one-day promotional collaboration centered around the global anime franchise ONE PIECE. The event, officially titled ONE PIECE Night, will take place on Thursday, July 3, during the Dodgers’ home game against the Chicago White Sox, scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
The partnership marks another entry in a growing list of cross-promotional events between professional sports organizations and ONE PIECE. Produced by Toei Animation and based on the manga by Eiichiro Oda, ONE PIECE has become a mainstay in global pop culture since its television debut in 1999. The franchise includes 15 feature films, a trading card game, multiple video game adaptations, and a wide range of licensed products.
As part of the July 3 promotion, the Dodgers will distribute co-branded ONE PIECE straw hats to the first 40,000 ticketed fans upon entry, while supplies last. Postgame festivities will include a drone show featuring ONE PIECE characters, promising a visual spectacle to the evening’s programming.
“This exciting partnership between the Dodgers and Toei Animation will bring a fun-filled event to Dodger Stadium,” said Lon Rosen, Executive Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer for the Dodgers. “It’s great to showcase ONE PIECE, one of the most popular franchises in the world, to the best fan base in the world.”
Lisa Yamatoya, Senior Director and Head of Marketing at Toei Animation Inc., said: “We’re thrilled to partner with the Los Angeles Dodgers to bring the global hit series ONE PIECE to Dodger Stadium on July 3 for a very special one-day promotion. We invite fans to us for ONE PIECE Night, which will offer a truly memorable, one-of-a-kind entertainment experience, complete with a not-to-be-missed ONE PIECE drone show after the game.”
The Dodgers partnership follows several recent ONE PIECE crossover promotions in sports. Previous collaborations include a Baskin Robbins.
