Mysta Rias, a VTuber part of the English Nijisanji lineup, has announced that he will graduate on August 27. The official announcement comes days after fellow talent Mirei Gundo‘s graduation. 67715
In his ongoing stream, Mysta Rias said that this has already been planned months before Nina Kosaka’s announcement. He added that a reason for his graduation was that he already “lost his drive.”
“My candle has been burned all the way down to the base. Yes, I burned out, but I burned out maybe seven or eight months ago and I have not been able to recover even 1% since then. I’ve tried positive reinforcement on myself, asking people around me for advice. But I don’t think it’s burnout, I think I’m just done,” he said.
He also added, “This is my decision and I’ve taken a long time. After talking to half of EN, some outside of EN, I’ve come to the conclusion — I came to it a while ago. But it wasn’t an easy task. That’s how it is. It might feel sudden but it’s not sudden for me or anyone else. It’s just been a long time. It’s the way it is.“
Through his graduation from Nijisanji, all of his social media channels will be set to private. Meanwhile, merch sales related to him will be also stopped gradually and will stop accepting fan letters on September 27. Nijisanji assures that LUXIEM, the VTuber unit Rias is part of, will continue their activities.
Aside from Rias and Kosaka, Nijisanji has been recently dealing with a slew of graduations with eight from its former Indonesian branch graduating this year: ZEA Cornelia, Taka Radjiman, Siska Leontyne, Amicia Michella, Azura Cecillia, Nara Haramaung, Reza Avanluna and Hyona Eliatora. It also terminated one of its English talents Yugo Asuma in December 2022.
Mysta Rias debuted with Nijisanji English’s first all-male wave alongside Luca Kaneshiro, Shu Yamino, Ike Eveland, and Vox Akuma on December 2021. He crossed the 1,000,000 YouTube subscriber milestone in December 2022.
