Kaiju No. 8 Season 2 revealed a second key visual, revealing a July 19 premiere date for the new season. The anime previously confirmed a July 2025 release date at at Jump Festa ’25. It was also announced that the Hoshina’s Day Off episode will stream worldwide on X on July 5 ahead of the series. Production I.G is animating, with Studio Khara handling the creature designs.

The second season will see the introduction of Gen Narumi, “Japan’s Strongest Anti-Kaiju Combatant”. He was also prominently featured in the first Season 2 trailer, which you can watch below:

The main voice cast for the Kaiju No. 8 anime includes Masaya Fukunishi as Kafka Hibino/Kaiju No. 8, Wataru Kato as Reno Ichikawa, Asami Seto as Mina Ashiro, and Kengo Kawanishi as Soshiro Hoshina. We had the opportunity to talk with Masaya Fukunishi at last year’s Anime Expo, where he shared his experience voicing Kafka.
Kaiju No. 8 manga by Naoya Matsumoto began serialization in July 2020 on Shueisha’s Shonen Jump+ and has since been collected into 15 volumes as of March 4. Viz Media licensed it in English.
Besides the recent movie and video game for the franchise is also in development.
